Include loved ones who cannot attend

Online Funeral Viewing & Livestreaming

Ask about online video viewing for a funeral, visitation, or memorial so relatives and friends can participate from a distance.

Thoughtfully coordinated

Guidance shaped around your family.

Distance, health, mobility, work, or travel circumstances can keep loved ones from being in the room. We help families discuss an online viewing or livestream arrangement and coordinate what is possible for the chosen venue, service, and connection. Tell us who you hope to include when you begin planning.

  • Video viewing for a funeral, visitation, or memorial by arrangement
  • Family choices about invited viewers and camera coverage
  • Venue, clergy, and connectivity checks before confirmation
  • Discussion of recording and remote participation preferences

Service options

Choose the form of care that fits your family.

01

Funeral or memorial stream

Discuss sharing the agreed ceremony with relatives who cannot attend in person.

02

Video viewing or visitation

Plan a family-approved viewing period and decide what the camera will show.

03

Recording or remote contribution

Ask about a recording, reading, or message from a distant relative, subject to permissions and technical availability.

Understanding the service

What this arrangement can include.

An online viewing can allow invited relatives to watch the parts of a service the family chooses to share. Before confirming the arrangement, we discuss the venue's permission, available internet connection, equipment and operator needs, audio, and how the viewing instructions will reach guests. Availability and any outside-provider charges are confirmed for the individual service.

Privacy comes first in planning the camera view. Tell us whether the casket, close family, guests, readings, or only the ceremony area may be shown. We coordinate the family's instructions with the venue and clergy or celebrant. Restricted access, link sharing, recording, and retention options depend on the agreed platform and provider and must be confirmed in advance.

For viewers in another country or time zone, provide the local service time and time zone, the link or access instructions supplied by the agreed provider, and a family contact for questions. A relative can help guests check their device and connection before the gathering. Live video quality depends on the venue and each viewer's connection.

If a recording, remote reading, or two-way participation is important, ask during planning. These are separate choices and are not automatically included with a livestream. We will explain what the venue and provider can support and discuss an alternative, such as a later shared tribute, if live coverage cannot be confirmed.

What to expect

A clear process, one step at a time.

01

Choose what to share

Discuss the people you want to include, the service moments, and the family's privacy preferences.

02

Confirm the setup

Review the venue, connection, provider, permissions, audio, and access arrangements.

03

Prepare your guests

Share confirmed viewing instructions and the service time, and arrange a connection check where available.

Questions about online viewing

Clear answers before decisions.

Every family and circumstance is different. These answers provide a starting point; our funeral director will confirm the details that apply to your arrangement.

Ask a specific question

That can be discussed when arranging online coverage. Access depends on the agreed provider, local availability, and the viewer's internet connection. Share the time zone and viewing instructions once the service is confirmed.
